Brian Tanner, President of Space Port Indiana™ and Nancy Conrad, Founder of Conrad Foundation were speakers at the Competition kickoff for Indiana Teams. In an Indiana first, four teams have signed up for the national competition in which finalists can win $120,000.00 in prizes. This is the first year that an Indiana team has been in the competition. The teams come from New Castle, Ft. Wayne, Columbus and Terre Haute Indiana. Each team had the chance to present their ideas and explained the principles behind the concept. The teams will have until April 2009 to perfect their plan, concept and commercialization strategy in one of three categories in this year's competition. Once selected as a finalist they will have their expenses paid to travel to NASA Ames in Califonia to compete for the final awards. After talking with these great teams, we feel confident that Indiana can do well in this national event. It was an impressive group and we wish all of our Indiana teams GOOD LUCK and we hope to see you in California in April for the finals. Space Port Indiana ™ representatives will be in California to cheer on our teams.
