Get the right training: Spaceport Indiana's UAV Training Program offers a way to master a new skill and career by learning from some of the top instructors in the country.

Gain the right knowledge: We teach students what they need to know about UAVs, sensors, mission planning and operation. Our program teaches you to understand how to use all the resources to create a system that will meet the needs of employers or customers.

Reach your goals faster: Our program is an accelerated curriculum that lasts six months. You can work around your busy schedule and gain the competency to take on a new career or start a new business. You can combine your online study along with our classroom and field training to maximize your time and proficiency.

Duties

  • Remotely pilot unmanned observation aircrafts to gather intelligence and data
  • As intelligence specialists, they are integral to providing customers with information about data gathered during the mission
  • Conduct all flight operations and light maintenance on UAV
  • Plan and analyze flight missions
  • Perform pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight checks and procedures
  • Launch and recover air frame from runway
  • Perform maintenance on communications equipment, power sources, and sensors

In this new industry, UAV pilots are making a top salary of $100,000 and an average annual salary of $74,000.

We will send you an enrollment form and provide the student packet. Completion of the course will result in successful candidate meeting all requirements to submit to the FAA for their Remote Pilot License and the students will receive a certification from Spaceport as a Certified Drone Pilot. Students will be required to be vetted by the Tansportation Safety Administration prior to granting of license. Student must pass FAA written exam as part of course. 

This training is only available to U.S. and Canadian citizens.
