Family recovers payload from TransAtlantic test flight
11/21/2011
A surprised family in Ohio had some unexpected company as a payload from the TransAtlantic White Star Balloon Project landed in their yard, on their garage roof and the driveway. The harness, carrying several feet of experimental payload was recovered by the Adams Family (no really) and handed over to the recovery crew within minutes. The link below is a YouTube™ video made by the Adams family and sent to Spaceport Indiana™. Something special is on the way to them for their unique twist on ballooning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6DQetaN3uQ. The recovery team was lead by Jeff Brown and retrieved the payload from the Adams family. Jeff was able to download some images immediately and passed them along. One photo is shown here. Weather was rainy on launch day with temps about 50. A heavy fog bank rolled in just after launch.
