Columbus Mayor Fred Armstrong Proclaims Space Day | 5/6/2010 |
Mayor Fred Armstrong has proclaimed May 7th, 2010 as Columbus~Space Port Indiana Space Day. This is a first for the City of Columbus and SPI and a sign that the City is once again on the leading edge of technology and innovation. The proclamation recognizes Friday May 7th as Space Day and the growing partnership between the community and Space Port Indiana™. This is an exciting time for Columbus, home to Indiana's Space Port, considering all of the changes that move much of America's space activities to industry instead of soley under the auspices of NASA. In 2011, Columbus will be home to a regional rocket competition held at Space Port Indiana and include teams from five states. The competition will be May 6th & 7th 2011 as part of the new annual Space Week to be held in the City. Click HERE to see Proclamation |
